Root Canals

In the past, root canals had a bad reputation. Just as automobiles get better every year, thanks to modern technology and practices, root canal therapy is now surprisingly comfortable. At my Salisbury dental office,  I performs a select number of root canals to save irreparably damaged teeth from extraction and prevent health problems, which can be associated with missing teeth.

The vital part of a tooth is in a chamber called the pulp, which lies in the center of the tooth, containing the nerves and blood vessels; as the pulp enters into the root of the tooth, the chamber changes into a canal coursing through the center of the root. Decay, disease, and trauma can damage these canals and make them susceptible to infection. Caught early, I can eradicate the infection and restore your tooth’s health with a root canal. Left untreated, the infection can spread, resulting in tooth loss and potentially serious medical complications. Keep in mind, the same blood supply that runs to the tooth, also runs to the brain, heart, and the rest of your body.

Because an attractive smile DOES matter. Call today to schedule your root canal appointment with Dr. Heher. We deliver exceptional care and personalized service to residents of Salisbury and Delmarva.
